LOOKING FOR A JOB WITH NVO?
Please read this important message in its entirety if you would like to apply for this job.
Hi! This is Dr. Alyssa Levin. I am the Owner and Orthodontist at North Valley Orthodontics, and I want to thank you for your interest in a job with my practice.
I know the process of applying for a job is an emotional one, and I want you to know that I will try to make this as dignified and professional as I possibly can.
A little bit about my practice. You probably read it in the ad, we are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join a highly experienced team. What does that mean? Well, in my office we all work really hard to provide exceptional customer service to our patients. We go above and beyond to make their orthodontic journey both memorable and pleasurable.
When you come to the office, I think you’ll find it is a little bit different of an experience. First, we are a small but intimate team. Second, my team is one of the most experienced teams around, with more than 75 years experience in the orthodontic field between 4 team members, not including me. I think you’ll be really impressed by their knowledge and skill level.
A little bit more about what to expect when you meet my team. We all have an incredible work ethic. Everybody in my office works exceptionally hard, and everybody wears multiple hats. I also try to empower my team to think and problem solve. I love to teach, and once a week I teach the orthodontic residents at A.T. Still University in Mesa. It is important to me that my assistants understand what they are doing, that they are not just robots. In this way, they can be another set of eyes for me, and orthodontics becomes a true team effort.
We are also always smiling and having fun. We are definitely looking for someone who isn’t afraid of hard work, who will jump in to help without hesitation, and someone who has fun doing it. You’ll also notice that everyone has a pretty darn upbeat attitude, whether they’re having a good day or not.
Our patients consistently remark on the warm, friendly office environment, and report an extremely high level satisfaction with the care and service we provide. Customer service is not for any lack of effort though. We have morning meetings, monthly meetings, and annual continuing education trips to improve our knowledge and customer service skills.
This job will possibly be one of the most rewarding jobs you ever have. The benefits we bring to our patients are often life changing and my team is integral to that change. It’s a really exciting job.
We want to hire someone that we can all respect in the office as a co-worker, with the same work ethic, values and dreams of professional and personal growth. In short, we are looking to add to our work family.
So if you’re a person who is frequently late to work, you make excuses about why you are late to work, or if you’re one of those people that have excuses on why your relationships aren’t the way they should be with your friends, spouse or kids, or if you complain about why you’re not making as much money as you would like to or don’t handle constructive criticism very well, this job is probably not a good fit for you. I would encourage you to apply elsewhere.
However, if you are a person who takes full responsibility for your actions, and you are motivated to get out of bed in the morning and make a positive difference in the lives of those around you, including your patients and your coworkers, then keep reading.
Now, what I would like to do is to give you some more details on how to apply.
First, I need you to call a special number I have set up: (209) SMILE99 or (209) 764-5399.
I need to know who you are, so go ahead and leave your name and telephone number after the beep.
You are also going to get a chance to let your personality shine through. In that message you leave me, I want you to tell me why you would be a Rock Star employee. Also tell me a little about your background and your experience. Basically, and very succinctly, tell me “your story”.
You might want to prepare what you’re going to say, and that’s fine. Just call that number when you’re ready, and remember to follow my instructions.
Please do not, and this is really important, do not call the office. Don’t email me a resume or fax it to the office either. We need to be focusing on our patients during the day.
You’ll hear back from me, and this is the really cool thing, by Tuesday at 6:00 pm.
I’ve been to job searches before where they tell you “we’ll get back to you in the next couple of weeks”, and it’s a long, drawn out process. We don’t do that. If you apply, you are going to know before Tuesday at 6:00 pm whether or not you’re a good candidate.
So if you don’t hear back from me, guess what? That means we found someone else who was more qualified or a better fit for the position we have open, and we wish you the best of luck in your job search. But if you are a person who fits what we are looking for, I will be calling you to tell you about the interview process from here.
With that, I would like to thank you for your time and for reading this message. I look forward to hearing your voicemail and to speaking with you soon.
In the interim, keep smiling
