My passion for orthodontics was inspired by my orthodontist just after high school, when my own orthodontic treatment was coming to an end. Once the flame was lit, I went after it, and have been working in orthodontics since 1996. It is my goal to be the Doctor one day… when I grow up… although somewhere along the way I did grow up, but I’m still pursuing the dream. I like to think that I am just taking the scenic route…
When Dr. Levin first opened North Valley Orthodontics it was just her and I. I wear all sorts of hats around the office: lead clinician, lab technician, I.T. guru… you name it, I do it! To open a practice from scratch and help it to grow and thrive has been a wild adventure, and rewarding to the core in so many ways.
I can usually be heard singing along to the jukebox as I happily work on my patients. (I am also in charge of the updating the tunes on our ipod, so of course I love all of the music we play!) I truly believe I have the best job ever being a part of transforming peoples’ smiles… and lives!
I am married to the same boy I started dating at age 14. We have 3 beautiful children that are the center of my universe. I am an Arizona native and have roots from this same area; I am a Shadow Mountain High School Alum (Go Matadors!) as well as an ASU grad.
My hobbies are too varied to ever put into writing without it being a novel, but my greatest interest is long distance running. I love to push my body as far as it can go, and then some. I don’t believe that any dream is too big, and I will keep running towards mine for as long as I am able.
Don’t let my professional appearance fool you, I’m a redneck at heart.
Born and raised in Molalla, Oregon, I did what a lot of the local kids did after high school and went to work full time at the lumber mill. After years of lumber grading had finally taken its toll on my body, I began to look for something different.
I’ve always been fascinated with science, whether it’s solving a puzzle, fixing an engine, loading the dishwasher or moving teeth, I love the strategy behind how the pieces fit together and the biology of cause and effect. I jumped in head-first and began my career as an orthodontic assistant in 2003.
My family recently relocated to Phoenix from the Seattle area, and we are quickly getting acclimated to seeing the sun for more than two days in a row.
I am thrilled and proud to be working with Dr. Levin and the North Valley Orthodontics team. Working with people is my passion, and if I can make your visit to our office fun, I know I’ve done my job!
When we’re not hard at work, my wife Christina and I enjoy spending time with our kids, Amelia and Carter. We love being outdoors and can often be found blazing a trail through the desert on our family of ATVs.
It’s hard to believe I’ve been in the orthodontic field for 22 years! It is the bestjob for someone who loves to be around people. I love the relationships I build with patients and their parents or other family members over the course of treatment. It is also very exciting to see and to be a part of so many life-changing transformations.
I am originally from Michigan and moved to sunny Arizona in January of 2013. It sure is hot, but we more than survived our first summer; no more snow to shovel or car windows to scrape ice off!!
I have 3 children, ranging from age 5 to 25 (yes, you read that right…). My son Joshua still lives in Michigan, Bryttany has eyes on medical school, and Dillan is happiest with his crayons, scissors, and an endless supply of paper and tape…
A favorite family activity of ours is bicycling; my husband Dwayne and I take our little guy with us, whether it is a 5 mile ride or a 20 mile ride. Our goal is eventually to be able to ride on longer trips, and participate in group rides for charity.
I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Levin and the North Valley Orthodontics team. I love being part of a team whose number one goal is patient satisfaction. Every day of work is enjoyable because we all truly love what we do.
When you come in for your appointments, I am usually the first person to greet you. Feel free to stop and chat.
I was born in Seoul, Korea, and adopted when I was 3½ months old. I have lived in the Scottsdale/Carefree ever since. I know that the office is technically in Big Blue territory, but I am a Horizon HS grad (Go Huskies!).
I embraced gymnastics through childhood; the balance beam was my favorite. Now I love spending quality time with my family, motorcycle rides, and relaxing or fishing in the beautiful outdoors. I also love to cook… but don’t ask this little Korean girl to make eggrolls or sushi. Lasagna and grilled vegetables are more like it. If I were stranded on a desert island, pizza would be all I need. My co-workers will attest to that!
I could not have found a more fulfilling and fun job, ever. I just love being a part of people’s lives as they experience an amazing life change. One of my favorite parts is when someone gets out of my chair and says, “That was so much easier than I thought it would be!! That’s not what I heard it would be like.”
I still wake up every morning pinching myself. I started assisting soon after High School, and I am ecstatic to have found the North Valley Orthodontics’ team. One of the things I love about our office is how much we give back to the community. It is very meaningful to be part of something so much bigger than yourself.
We are like family here. I hope you can feel that, and love being a part our family as much as I do!
